Send in the Clowns

I was not meant to wake up today.

Today was when I had the full realization
that I am not as much of a people person
as I once thought I was
and frankly, I always knew I was never
much of a people person to begin with
but today confirmed
that I'm far less
than I ever gave myself credit for

And in the midst of utter chaos,
my mother calls me
from Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills
to tell me she just tried on
the ring she wants me to buy her
when I'm rich and famous

and it's only 1.1 million dollars.

Right after this she
let out a scream of delight
shouted "Valentino"
told me she loved me
and hung up.
